The Law school

this is the building i wish i was studying in .... the law school but too bad i'm a science student ...:<>

the lazy me finally went to my biotech class today ... after meeting up with a few ppl for MSG discussion i decided to go to class!! yeah!!i made it!!what a record for me!! i skipped my biotech lec 7 times ... wow ... so lazy ... but i can get notes from the blackboard what ... n the lec is not really about biotech ...the technique ....but it's about biotech in society ,from maori point of view ... i felt super bored!!! anyway ... didn't regret for going to class today ... coz we had an interesting discussion about things u take them least acceptable , neutral or most acceptable....

1.Adding a gene sequence to a tomato to increase its flavour
2.Cloning a pet dog
3.Genetically modifying an ornamental flower to create a new colour-purple carnation.
4.Putting DNA obtained from a huia feather into a similar bird to clone -'bring back' - the huia
5.Adding a gene to commercial rice variety to produce Vitamin A in the rice
6.Transplanting a pig heart into a human being
7.Modifying a cattle gene so the cow produces less lactose in its milk(providing a new milk brand)
8.Injecting embryonic stem cells from human foetus into another human being to treat motor neurone disease
9.Modifying a commercial wheat variety so it is resistant to spraying on herbicides
10.Altering the genes of an apple so it stays crisp
11.Genetically modifying the NZ kauri tree to allow it to grow in a different climate
12.Modifying E.Coli in the lab to study a human disease

From my point of view-
Least Acceptable:2,6,9,11
Neutral:4,10
Most Acceptable:1,3,5,7,8,12

i personally think that No.6 sounds so wrong!!felt gutted ... so disgusting!!!but there r ppl in my class who put it under most acceptable.... isn't that interesting???
i wonder what will other ppl think about these 12 things??ermmm....
